Scream of the Butterfly II

by ~morticon

"Scream of the Butterfly Pt.2 - 'Conceived'"

She could hear his rasping breath in the darkness. The cavern that had been Celestia's home... her torment these three weeks, seemed confining as ever. She didn't understand how, but Matagar had managed to prolong her bloodletting. What should have ceased in mere days, had dragged on and on, from week to agonizing week. Every morning, he would inspect her. If she was not with child, he would mate with her... rape her - hour after hour... day after day. He did not cease or slow. From sun up to sun down, he would shame her. He slept only a few hours; it was her only reprieve from her humiliation.

In the beginning, she had thought to end her own life while he slept. Somehow, he knew what she'd planned. He always knew. It was as if her mind were an open book to him. That first night, when she'd contemplated suicide, he had appeared in front of her as if from thin air. What came next, she would not soon forget... or forgive.

"So, little butterfly, you think you can flee into Death's waiting arms?" he had asked, "I think you'll find that to be somewhat of an impossibility. Shall I demonstrate? Yes... yes, I think I shall. Let this be a lesson to you, my little butterfly."

He had, then, used a single, razor sharp talon to slice a neat, surgical line across her throat. She had felt the sting, and the warmth as her life's essence flowed from the wound, but she did not die. Hours passed, and the blood continued to flow. Yet, she lived. She had thought, perhaps, the wound was not as deep as it should be. That, perhaps, it had been a trick. He had heard her thoughts...

"So, my wingless butterfly requires further lessons. As you wish."

He brutally raked his talons down her chest, reached within, and began removing her organs one by one, in alphabetical order. The agony was unbearable. She howled in pain, writhing and kicking on the cavern floor, but he did not cease his display. Rather, he slowed his work... he relished in her anguish. The louder she screamed, the longer he took to cut each organ from its resting place. She knew only pain... the torture could have lasted for minutes, or even days. She did not know.

When he had finished, he bid her look down into the empty chasm that had once held her vitals. She saw only blood and bone; yet, she lived. Celestia could not fathom what power would possibly grant Matagar such capability. Nor did she care to know. She was trapped with this creature. He held every advantage, and she knew it. There was no escape, not even death.

"You finally understand, then, that you are at my mercy?" he asked, as he began replacing her organs.

She spat in his face... what a mistake that was!

He brutally thrust her on her against the wall and pulled her head back by her hair, widening the wound in her throat. "Little insect, do you not realize I can cause you such agony as has never been felt by any being since time began?!"

Celestia shuddered as she recalled his pelvis thrusting against her neck - the pain she felt as he continued to aggravate the wound. She could almost feel him inside her throat again as she gagged and gasped for air that would not come. She almost vomited as she recalled his seed pouring out through her mouth and nostrils. Celestia would never forgive him for that humiliation. She would see Matagar destroyed.

Her chance at vengeance was fast approaching. She was with child, now - she could sense it. Any moment, her maternal nature would begin, and no power under God could hope to rival impregnated Tetraphim. Celestia would obliterate this abomination and return to the Elders ready to do whatever was necessary to unburden herself of this infant, before it was too late. Yes, her escape would come soon... she hoped.

"Entertaining flights of fancy, again, I see." Matagar boomed as he strode across the cave toward her.

"Planning your timely demise." She replied.

He knelt before her and placed a leathery, black claw on her stomach.

"I see our daily games have not been unfruitful," he chuckled, and turned to gaze at her with deep, penetrating onyx eyes, "I shall have to treat you better. It would be a shame to damage our son, wouldn't you agree?"

Matagar's eyes widened in shock as Celestia suddenly burst into life. Her skin turned from pale white to radiant gold, and her eye's glazed over with silver. Tiny lightning bolts snaked around her entire body, crackling and snapping like a newly lit campfire. She returned his shocked stare with a grin, and opened her mouth wide.

Matagar suddenly found himself thrust against the cavern wall as she wailed more loudly than anything he had ever encountered. He tried to move, but he found himself pinned against the wall as if some unseen force held a relentless, vise-like grip on his entire body. He couldn't breathe; he couldn't speak. Matagar could not so much as close his eyes in the face of this raw demonstration of power. He felt his flesh beginning to strip away, piece by agonizing piece. He tried to reach inward - to tap his own power and free himself from her grasp. Deeper, and deeper he fell... until... nothing. It just wasn't there.

He felt the wall giving - felt himself sinking into the stone. He was powerless. He could hear Celestia laughing as he struggled against her in futility. Then, he made a final, frantic attempt. Matagar focused all his will, not within himself, but within her... he fell into his unborn son.

Celestia felt the change instantly. It was as if some taint had burst from within her. She felt her hold on Matagar wavering - her own consciousness slipping - and she knew she had to flee, but there was no where to go. No exits... Matagar had seen to that. So, she did the only thing she knew... she screamed once more.

Matagar fell to his knees, weakened, but otherwise in good condition. She had been stronger than he anticipated. No matter, his plans were well in motion. Yes, she had escaped a bit sooner than he had initially foreseen, but it was of little consequence. There was nowhere she could hide. He could sense the child, even now.

"Let the insect believe she has eluded me," he thought, "when the child is birthed, she will know the truth."

Hmm... a seraphim. With your talent, this should prove interesting. But I wonder... the character Matagar, do you just have an unbridled talent to sound like you know where he's coming from, or do you really know where he's coming from?

Oh, and yes, it's amazing, blah blah, but you already knew that and hardly need (or can use) anymore of an ego boost.
